My Testimony

If there is one constant source of peace and joy in my life it comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It is in this testimony that I find the greatest peace and hope despite the crazy world around me. I know that if I have faith in our Savior, I have no need to fear.

I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the true church. I know that it was restored by Joseph Smith and that he was a prophet of God. I know that Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ appeared to him in the grove of trees. I know that Thomas S. Monson is our prophet today and that he is the mouthpiece of God. I know that he receives revelation for the church and that as we follow his council, we will be blessed.

I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I know that it was translated by Joseph Smith by the power of God. I know that the Book of Mormon was written for our day. I know that it contains God’s will for us and that as we follow the council given in it, that we will be blessed and become more like Heavenly Father.

I know that Jesus is the Christ, our Savior, and Redeemer. I know that he atoned for our sins and died so that we can return to our Heavenly Father again someday. I know that because of the Atonement, I can repent of my sins and be forgiven. I know that it is through the Savior that my weaknesses can become strengths and I can be at peace. I know that in Christ, I can do all things.

I know that the temple is the House of the Lord. I know that as we attend the temple and perform ordinances for ourselves and for the dead, that we will be blessed with strength and protection and become more and more like our Heavenly Father. I know that if I remain faithful to the covenants I make in the temple and endure to the end, I can return to my Father in heaven and be with my family forever through the Sealing power of the Priesthood.

I know that Heavenly Father hears and answers my prayers. I know that as we go on our knees in faith to pray to our Heavenly Father, that we will know His will for us and know the things which He would have us do. I know that sometimes we must act in faith and put our trust in Heavenly Father. As we do so, we will be led. “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not to thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).”

I know that Heavenly Father knows me personally and loves me. I know that I am His daughter, a child of God. I know that He wants me to be happy and is eager to bless me. I know that as we keep His commandments and follow Him, that we will find the greatest joy.
